Description
A full bodied bolt with wood screw threading and a gimlet point. Similar to wood screws but usually much larger and longer with either a hex or square head to be driven using a wrench.
Lag screws/bolts are designed to fasten heavy lumber together, or wood to masonry/concrete. Aspen Fasteners stocks hex head lag screws with lengths up to 12” and diameters from 1/4" to 3/4".
Hex head lag screws/bolts are stocked in steel with zinc or galvanized finishes. The length of a lag screw is measured from the bearing surface under the head to the end of the screw. The indented hex flange head variation increases the bearing surface of the head and can be used instead of placing a washer between the head and the wood surface.
