Weld Screws – Projections Over Head
These Weld Screws with projections over head are externally threaded with unified thread pitch. They have a cylindrical, low profile head with two parallel surfaces. These weld screws are made from C1008-1010 or equivalent welding quality carbon steel in a plain finish to facilitate welding. Furthermore, the top of the head has three dome-shaped weld projections. The projections are concentrically placed 120° apart and fuse with underlying metal surface during the welding process. Because the projections are positioned on top of the head, there is no through-hole required in the material onto which the screw is being welded. Consequently, there is no screw head protruding through the plate and therefore the exterior surface remains virtually intact. Projection weld screws with the projection on top of the head are ideal for applications where product appearance is important and for situations where potential leakage is a concern since there is no hole required in the surface of the material.
