Flat Head Carriage Bolts

Flat head square neck carriage bolts have a low profile bearing surface that is countersunk to a 150 degree angle. They have a square neck below the bearing surface that when properly inserted into the mating surface, restricts spinning as the nut is tightened or removed. Unlike a standard flat countersunk head which permits the head to lie flush with the mating surface when fully tightened, a portion of the flat head carriage bolt remains elevated above the surface even when fully tightened. Flat head square neck carriage bolts are typically used for many of the same applications as round mushroom head carriage bolts but offer a lower profile if needed.
